Scotland

In addition to pay-as-you-go services, we offer two packages of support for local authorities, Gold and Silver packages depending on how many adopters you have and budget available.

Gold package is designed for larger local authorities or groups of local authorities (possibly geographically close) who wish to work together to support many adoptive families. This package offers you the opportunity to tailor support to the needs of your families, it can promote the development of support networks between families and gives a clear demonstration of what you are doing to support your adopters. There is flexibility within the package to adapt to your needs if they change throughout the year.

  • Annual programme of online and face-to-face training for prospective adopters, adoptive parents and professionals delivered by or in conjunction with AUK staff (choice from a minimum of eight training courses). Courses would not be exclusive, but would be open to other local authorities, agencies and individuals. Up to 60 places, (e.g., 10 places on six online courses) would be reserved for your families and employees. At least one localised f2f training session for up to 30 people would be included.
  • 30 AUK memberships for your families with direct online registration for those families.
  • Access to a localised community group
  • Family events (minimum of two events per year)
  • Personal attendance from AUK staff at two Preparation Groups and Post Adoption groups
  • Reports on and management of course uptake
  • Provision of branded publicity materials and direct booking links
  • Associate membership of AUK

Silver package is designed for smaller local authorities who may find it difficult to have enough adopters to consider the Gold package.  It offers you a wide variety of courses, with consultation on what would be provided. Your families and employees would meet a wide variety of people from across Scotland during courses, which can lead to the formation of supportive relationships. This package of support also offers a clear demonstration of what you are doing to support your adopters.

  • Annual programme of online training for prospective adopters, adoptive parents and professionals delivered by or in conjunction with AUK staff (choice from a minimum of eight courses). Courses would not be exclusive, that is, they will also be open to other local authorities, agencies and individuals. Up to 20 online places (e.g. four places on five online courses)
  • Secured places at a face-to-face course run in or close to your local authority area
  • 10 AUK memberships for your families with direct online registration for those families
